Both are standard exams that undergraduate students take to continue their studies in high-level programs. Exams are similar to each other, designed to check the level of your English, analytical and mathematical thinking. Exam results remain valid for over five years.
We found some differences between those two exams.
GMAT is more intended for continuing studies in business and economics. You can apply for thousands of MBA programs and business schools with this exam. GRE is accepted by a small number of universities and schools, but it corresponds to other fields, for example, quantum physics to the master’s program of literature.
Maths Assignments. Mathematical tasks in GMAT are more complicated than in GRE: In order to pass the first stage, it is desirable to have good technical training, but for the GRE, it is enough to master the school curriculum well enough. In addition, you can use a calculator during the GRE, so it is more preferred by humanitarian students.
In GMAT, grammar knowledge and analytical thinking are tested first, and GRE vocabulary is more evaluated.
Time. Excluding pauses, GMAT lasts 3 hours and 7 minutes, GRE lasts 3 hours and 45 minutes.
The cost of the Gmat is $250 and $205 for the GRE.
